Original Controller V3.0:
Original Controller Ver. 1.4
The M365 originally came equipped with the 1.4 controller, which was subsequently upgraded to the 2.1 controller.
The 1.4 controller is fitted with low-voltage rated capacitors and can handle a maximum of 12S batteries. However, it has vulnerable traces that may burn out during aggressive braking on downhill slopes or when flashing custom firmware to increase power output.
For the 1.4 controller, you can enhance its capabilities by replacing the capacitors with higher-rated ones to accommodate greater overvolting. Additionally, reinforcing the traces with solder or wires can make it more resilient to higher current loads.
The M365 Pro is outfitted with the 2.1 controller.
The 2.1 controller features improved capacitors, allowing it to safely support up to 19S batteries and even push to 20S if you’re willing to push the limits. Nevertheless, it shares the same trace vulnerability as the 1.4 version. As for the 2.1 controller, the primary modification required is reinforcing the traces to improve durability.
On the other hand, the Essential, 1S, Pro2, and the new Mi3 models all share the same 3.0 controller.
The 3.0 controller stands out as the superior option. It boasts the same high-quality capacitors as the 2.1 controller but comes with pre-reinforced traces. This means it can handle overpowered and overvolted setups without the need for additional modifications.
